Ethics chief 'expects' EPA to probe Pruitt allegations

The government's top ethics officer is calling on U.S. EPA to investigate Administrator Scott Pruitfs alleged excessive spending and misuse of his office. In a letter sent Friday to Kevin Minoli, EPA's designated ethics official, David Apol, acting director and general counsel for the Office of Government Ethics, said he expects EPA will review a growing list of reports describing Pruitt as using personal staff to find his housing; his rental lease for a lobbyist-linked condo; his growing travel and security expenses as well as staff pay raises; and the reassignment and demotion of staff members who raised concerns about that spending.
