Staffers of color back Obama-era official for Region 5 post

Employees of color in EPA's Region 5 are backing a former agency official who served during the Obama administration to lead their office. Fifty-one staffers, identifying themselves as "U.S. EPA workers of color," signed a letter sent yesterday to EPA Administrator Michael Regan urging him to select Micah Ragland for Region 5 administrator. "Micah is highly qualified, and would be the first African American Regional Administrator of Region 5," said the letter. "He worked side by side with us to protect the people of Flint, Michigan during the drinking water crisis, and will continue to work with all people, to protect human health and all land, water and air of the Great Lakes states."
