Cleanup underway after 21,000-gallon crude oil well spill

Cleanup is underway after 21,000 gallons of crude oil spilled at a well east of Williston, N.D., state energy officials said yesterday. State Oil and Gas Division officials said the release at the Equinor Energy LP well was due to a valve failure. Officials said the oil was contained on-site and all but about 400 gallons had been recovered as of yesterday afternoon. A state inspector has been sent to the location and will monitor additional cleanup.
