EPA delays revamped ozone monitoring network

Beset by budget and contracting snags, EPA is delaying a major overhaul ofan ozone-related air monitoring network until the middle of next year.The agency had planned to launch the revamped PhotochemicalAssessment Monitoring Stations this past June. Instead, the required startdate for taking measurements is now set for June 2021, giving states twoextra years "to acquire the necessary equipment and expertise," accordingto a final rule published in today's Federal Register.
