Musical about 'most toxic town' makes Off-Broadway debut

Audience members watching "The Picher Project" last night might not have previously knownabout "America's most toxic town," but by the end of the evening, they did - all in the form of a musical.The off-Broadway show about the rise and fall of a now-abandoned mining town - Picher, Okla. - made itsdebut at Feinstein's/54 Below, a cabaret and restaurant owned by several Broadway producers. Normally 2 ½hours long, the show was cut to 75 minutes for yesterday's performance.
