National Mining Association President and CEO Hal Quinn announced today he will retire at the end of the year.Quinn will step down after 23 years working on behalf of the nation's coal and hardrock mining companies. His11 years atop NMA make him the trade group's longest-serving leader."Hal has been a forceful advocate and an effective leader who has guided our industry through times of greatchallenge and crafted the strategies and programs that allowed us to seize opportunities whenever possible,"said NMA Chairman Phil Baker, president and CEO of Hecla Mining Co. "Hal strengthened and extended U.S.mining's voice in and outside Washington."
