The Government Accountability Office is detailing ways federal agencies can increase revenue and reduce costsby cutting down on duplicative programs and reducing areas of fragmentation and overlap.In its 2019 duplication report, GAO singled out 98 new actions agencies could take to make the federalgovernment more efficient, including greater planning for advance contracting by the Federal EmergencyManagement Agency and reining in inland waterways construction by the Army Corps of Engineers.
