Dems worry Energy Star site 'inappropriately' shut down

House Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone and other Democrats today expressed concern that the partial governmentshutdown is being used to "undermine" a central energy efficiency program.Pallone (D-N.J.), Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Chairwoman Diana DeGette (D-Colo.), and Environment and ClimateChange Subcommittee Chairman Paul Tonko (D-N.Y.) noted in a letter to EPA that the website for Energy Star is inactive, even thoughthe rest of the EPA site appears operational.
