With production value estimates of $ 1.78 billion in 2006, Taiwan retains its place among the world's major suppliers of electronic components for automotive use. Along with mainland China, India and other key Southeast Asian regions, the island's aggregate worth for automotive components registered 24 percent growth year-on-year, and is forecast to hit $3.12 billion in 2010.
