Mainstream supply led by 0402,0603 models

Taiwan manufacturers of chip capacitors continue to follow the miniaturization trend to meet the requirements^ portable devices. The mainstream sizes are 0402 and 0603, which suit compact consumer, computer and communication products, although the development of 0201 and 01005 picks up pace. Capacity and voltage resistance are also being enhanced, with up to 5kV the target in the latter. Due to intense price competition, however, most small and midsize companies prefer to focus on large varieties for niche markets.
