Ovum's Innovative Service of the Month: Safaricom's Jitambulishe identity verification solution

As part of Ovum's ongoing Telco Services Innovation Radar project, we reviewed 94 announcementsrnof innovative services launched by service providers around the world in December 2017. Ourrnselection for innovation of the month is Safaricom's Jitambulishe identity verification solution.rnSafaricom has introduced a voice biometrics system called Jitambulishe to enable customers tornaccess services through a quicker and less intrusive vetting process. Customers can use their voicesrnfor authentication before accessing assisted services such as resetting an M-Pesa PIN or makingrnPUK requests, significantly reducing the number of steps they must go through.
