IPCC's activities contributing to the COP of UNFCCC

The Third Conference of the Parties (COP3) to the United Natiions Framework Con- Vention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will be held in Kyoto in December of this year To determine the Quantified Emission Limitation and Reduction Objectives (QELROs) Beyond year 2000. In preparation of COP3, and upon the requests from the Subsidiary Body for Scentic and Technological Advice (SBSTA_ and Ad hoc Group on Berlin Madata (AGBM) of COP, during 1996 to 1997, the integovernmental Panel on on Cli- Mate Change (IPCC) has been formulating for Technique Paper based on its Second Assessment Report to provide and publish current scientic and technological knowledge.
