Introduction of global warming issue and technologies for mitigating climate change

In recent years, CO_2 emission due to human activity increases and the adverse influ- ence of global warming by CO_2 radiative forcing on ecosystem structure is worried. The global warming issue has received a high degree of international attention and various international conferences on climate changes were held under the auspices of United Nations. In 1990, Japan formulated policies and strategies against climate change, and proposed "New Earth 21" for international coordination to tackle with the climate change through long-term approaches.
