An Important Contribution to the Study of the Geodynamic Evolution of Central Eurasia

In 2002, a large group of scientists from seven CIS countries (Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan) and China completed the compilation of the Atlas of lithologic-paleogeographic, palinspastic, and structural maps of Central Eurasia. The principal maps were presented in the Atlas at an original scale of 1 : 2500000. Two versions of the Atlas were prepared, viz., an electronic one (complete version) and a hardcopy (approximately twofold condensed version). When publishing the hard-copy, the scale of the maps was reduced threefold to a scale of 1 : 7500000. The hardcopy version has been published in Almaty by the YuGGEO Research Institute (Kazakhstan).
