Bei der üblichen Technik werden Teile für die Beschichtung durch eine spezielle Galvanikanlage hindurch befördert. Die fertigungsflußintegrierte Anlagentechnik dagegen bringt die entsprechenden Elektrolyte zu den in der Fertigungslinie befindlichen Werkstücken. Erforderlich sind hierfür neue Methoden der Behälterausführung, die an die jeweilige Werkstückkonfiguration angepaßt werden und geeignete Hochleistungs-elektrolyte. Realisiert wurde diese Technik zur partiellen Beschichtung von Aluminium-Fließpreßteilen und Motorkolben bzw. Zylindern. Durch die geringen verwendeten Elektrolytvolumina ergibt sich eine minimale Umweltbelastung.%In conventional metal finishing technology, the components to be coated are passed through a dedicated plating line. In the concept of production line integrated plant technology, by contrast, the requisite electrolyte solution is supplied to the component as it proceeds along the production line. This approach calls for new thinking in tank or container geometry, which must be matched to the shape of the particular component, and also calls for high-performance electrolyte solutions. Practical examples of this approach are found in partial coating of aluminium continuously pressed components and in engine cylinder bores and pistons. Thanks to a reduced volume of electrolyte required, the environmental impact of the process is correspondingly smaller.
