Chicolna Arts Project

These are pictures of work in progress, there are adjustments to be made. I am forwarding these images for the reason, as our site over-looking the Indian Ocean sits on a plateau of laterite rock formed over a millennia of volcanic activity. All our material requirements can be potentially harvested from the land. What you see as cuts in the ground in the form of octagons, decahedrons, and dodecahedrons are water tanks created by excavating the laterite which then can be used for retaining walls, gadaga walls, well lining, and wherever else they are required and appropriate. What we get in turn are water catchment cisterns interconnected by a network of water channels woven through the site.
