Sarah Wigglesworth Architects and Buro Happold create new cycle hub for Kingston

Sarah Wigglesworth Architects (SWA) and Buro Happold have revealed their work for Kingston's Mini-Holland scheme in Greater London, comprising a three-storey cycle hub for 398 bikes, a new station plaza and a new cycle/ pedestrian bridge. The works have been completed as part of Kingston's £32m Go Cycle infrastructure project, part of London's mayoral-funded Mini-Holland scheme, which also awarded investment to two other London boroughs: Enfield and Waltham Forest.By 2050, the population of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames is expected to grow by 30% from 2015 figures, highlighting the need for better travel connections. The scheme aims to encourage cycling, walking and public transport, reduce carbon emissions and improve health and well-being for Kingston's residents and visitors.
