Editorial

摘要

This Special Issue of the Journal is dedicated to the theme "Foundations of Lattice-Valued Mathematics with Applications to Algebra and Topology". The papers contained herein are revisions and extensions of selected talks presented at the 29th Linz Seminar on Fuzzy Set Theory which was held February 12-16, 2008 in Linz, Austria. The Guest Editors would like to thank the Organizing Committee for the 29th Seminar for making this event possible.rnThe Linz seminars have a long tradition of encouraging rigorous mathematical development of topics in fuzzy set theory and facilitating exchange of information between theoreticians and those more focused on application. These seminars are deliberately kept small and intimate so that informal critical discussion remains central. There are no parallel sessions so that participants can carefully evaluate each presentation and fully engage in discussion of each topic; and during the week there are several round tables to discuss open problems and promising directions for further work.
