The book offers a comprehensive and rigorous treatment, yet very readable, of generalized measure theory. It can be considered as a continuation of the book "Fuzzy Measure Theory" by the same authors (Plenum Press. 1992), with a much broader scope and including the most recent advances in the field. Generalized measure theory covers all types of measures that are generalizations of an additive measure in the classical sense: the so-called fuzzy measures (monotone measures), null-additive measures, signed measures, etc. The exposition of the material is clearly in the measure-theoretic style. Even if a basic knowledge in classical measure theory is useful to benefit from the book, it is enough self-contained and recalls enough basic results from classical measure theory to be read without a special training in this field.
