Aquaculture is currently one of the world‟s fastest growing food-producing industriesand accounts for over 50% of the total global seafood supply. According to WorldBank 2018 statistics, Aquaculture is projected to be the prime source of seafood by2030, as demand grows from the global middle class and wild capture fisheriesapproach their maximum take. To feed a global population that will reach nine billionby 2050, aquaculture industry should focus on adopting sustainable strategies forimproved production on the environmental, economic, and social fronts. Inaquaculture, feed, water, and energy are three of the main resources to beconsidered for optimization for a more sustainable future in this industry.
