Detecting counterfeits and measuring the consumption is vital in the consumable industry. Existing methods to detect counterfeits include printing of barcodes, quick response (QR) codes, or holograms, are easy to copy. The existing technologies are not fool-proof and have high chances of duplication of codes. In addition, sophisticated technologies to detect counterfeits and measure consumables are expensive. There is a high demand for smart devices in the consumables industry for economical detection of counterfeits.
