Registration is coming but not soon

On Oct. 26 the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) voted by a margin of three to two to require hedge fund advisors to register with the SEC despite widespread opposition by the President's working group. The approval was a bit of good news and bad news for Managed Futures Association President Jack Gaine, one of its loudest critics. Bad news that it was approved, good news that it won't become effective until February 2006.
