The U.S. unemployment rate is now under the long-term average of 5.8%. That means we have come a long way since the 10.8% reading at the darkest hour of the Great Recession. This trend has picked up steam bit by bit over the last few years. On the plus side, most signs point to even more job gains ahead. Too often investors see the positive employment trends and it leads to them to buy the shares of staffing firms - there is nothing wrong with that. Also it makes sense to look at some of the consumer names as more people employed leads to higher income, which leads to higher spending.
