Your Snapchat analysis ("The Banana Republic of Snapchat," April 2017), was spot-on, but underplays the pervasive cynicism and immaturity of the current Snap ecosystem. It strikes me this is nothing more than a Silicon Beach gold rush seeking to mirror the success of Facebook in so many ways. Here in New York, you cannot imagine how high the demand is from both the ad and media communities despite any real proof statements. If you turn out to have underestimated this phenomenon, just remember how long it took people to wake up to the baloney coming from AOL.
