This should come as no surprise as some of the top performing CEOs served in the U.S. military. U.S. corporations led by 16 sitting CEOs with military backgrounds in 2015 outperformed the S&P 500 significantly according to data collected by BoardEx, a subsidiary of TheStreet that analyzes corporate relationships. Those firms posted an average gain of 8%, compared with the S&P 500's decline of 1.2%.
