Semantics and Knowledge are fundamental elements of the future interconnection environment. Grid realizes the human aspiration on optimization. The Semantic Grid and Knowledge Grid have been forming their research communities since they were initiated around 2002 (www.semanticgrid.org, www.knowledgegrid.net).
