Effect of ageing at 65 and 85 deg. C of scintillators made from granulated BASF and PSM-115 polystyrenes is studied as a function of the ageing duration. Rupture strength And elongation limit are measured for unaged and aged samples. The plasticity and Strength characteristic variation is shown to be no more than 16/100 at the ageing at 85 deg. C For 2800 h. The 50 per cent strength loss under normal service conditions (20 deg. C) is Forecast to occur after 8 years for PSM-115 samples and after 10.5 years for BASF ones.
