Although it sounds logical, it appears not to be: Return on any supply chain software investment is maxi-mized when baseline metrics are established, thereby allowing measured improvements to be documented. However, "We rarely see baselines establishing how to measure success," says Ken Finkel, strategic accounts leader for RedPrairie Corp. Without a baseline, how will management determine the return on its investment, or even the success of the implementation?
