Musco Family Olive Company Automates Distribution

For the better part of a century, Musco Family Olive Co. has been working to improve the way it handles and packages olives, but automation of its distribution center's data systems is a relatively new development. Musco, the leading supplier of branded olives in America, operates out of a 350-acre campus in Tracy, Calif., which houses its main distribution center and canning facilities. The company distributes olives canned in its own facility, as well as pre-canned olives imported from Europe. More than two years ago, the company started looking for ways to improve inventory management and product traceability. Musco implemented new warehouse management software and has boosted inventory accuracy to almost 100%.
