Compression of Sar Raw Data Using the Method of BABC

摘要

The problem addressed is the compression of SAR raw data in the time and frequency domain. An optimization of the Well known methods of BAQ (Block Adaptive Quantization) and FFT-BAQ (BAQ after FFT) is conducted resulting in the methods of BABC (Block Adaptive Bit-Rate control) and FFT-BABC (BABC after FFT), respec- tively. This optimization is performed by departing from the BAQ-approach of using a predefined, fixed bit bud- get for the coding of each data subblock.
