Prof. Dr.-Ing. Volkert Hansen on the Occasion of his 65th Birthday

On June 3, 2009 Professor Dr.-Ing. Volkert Hansen celebrated his 65th birthday and, at the end of the corresponding summer semester 2009, he retired as a university professor at Bergische Universitat Wuppertal. Professor Hansen was born 1944 in a small German village near the border of the Baltic Sea. Growing up in the countryside as part of a large family, his early years were down-to-earth. In 1963, he moved to Darmstadt, where he studied electrical engineering at the Technische Universitat.
