After a string of recalls amid safety fears, China has launched a four-month-campaign, aimed at improving the quality of agricultural products, but, according to Chinese press, has recently admitted "challenges remain". The campaign, launched in August 2007, is hoped to assuage fears from both domestic and foreign markets. However, despite claims the mission was successful, a recent report, blaming a high number of recalled goods in Britain partly on Chinese exports, could be damaging for the country's already bruised reputation.
