Something special is happening in Korea's ancient culinary capital. On the country's southwest coast, Korea is developing FOODPOLIS, a huge food industry complex that will provide multinational food companies and research institutes unparalleled access to the region's tremendous economic growth. Korea aims to leverage the cluster to increase exports of agricultural, marine, and processed food products to $30 billion by 2020 and become one of the top-10 food exporters in the world. To achieve this goal, the country plans to attract foreign investment, while also nurturing globally competitive food companies at home, which can help diversify export markets overseas.
