USDA Seeks Comments on GMO Labeling Rule

USDA will miss its July 29 deadline to create a rule for labeling of genetically engineered (GMO) foods and ingredients, but at least it's out of the blocks. The agency published its proposed final rule in the Federal Register on May 3 (www.federalregister.gov/documents/2018/05/04/2018-09389/ national-bioengineered-food-disclosure-standard) and opened a 60-day comment period, which will end on July 3.
