Talking about the engineering skills conundrum

The nature of work in the food and beverage processing sector still requires engineers to have a broad range of traditional skills, as they remain the first line of defence against the dreaded 'unexpected downtime' in often aging plants. In contrast, there is also a growing need for engineers to add a variety of IT skills to their repertoire and they need to be adept at data analysis for condition-based monitoring and predictive maintenance of machinery.
