摘要

The use of food additives is regulated on the basis of the Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI). The enforced regulation should provide assurance that the ADI will not be exceeded when the foods are ingested by the consumer. Exposure of children to food additives has for a long time been a substantial part of the discussion on food additive safety for human health and a similar discussion has been taking place in relation to pesticide residues and contaminants in food. Two major arguments have been used as the basis for Suggestions that the use of food additives represents a Higher risk for infants and children than for adults And that special ADIs should be established for this Age group.
