Classic Kemble

The cotswolds countryside resounded to the roar of Hawker Hunter-borne Rolls-Royce Avon turbojet and other classic jets on June 18 as the Kemble Air Day got underway. As well as providing a great Father's Day treat for many lucky dads, the event celebrated the 10th year of civilian airshows at the airfield. The show was opened in fine style by resident Delta Jets' Hunter T.7 XL577 (G-BXKF) in its striking 'Blue Diamond' colour scheme. The display then went on to include a good variety of 'acts', ranging from the Rolls-Royce Griffon growl of Filton-based Supermarine Spitfire PR.XIX PS853 (G-RRGN) to the climbs and turns of RNZAF Boeing 757 NZ7527.
