'Big Pitts' reborn in Australia

Curtis pitts designed and built the first of his Pitts Specials in 1943-44 and since that time, the famous machine, through different variants, has racked-up more aerobatic victories than any other type. Success to that degree speaks volumes about the design excellence. However, one of his subsequent aircraft, the Samson, has been very much overlooked. This machine was constructed at Pitts' Gainesville facility in Florida during 1948 as a 'one-off for noted aerobatic barnstormer, Jess Bristow.
