Tracing its origins back to 1972, the Danmarks Flyvemuseum (Danish Aviation Museum) took 28 years before it settled into its present site. Several schemes for a location and a short stay at Billund have now given way to an impressive venue near Copenhagen.rnNow an integral part of the Danmarks Tekniske Museum (Danish Technical Museum), the original plan had been to open it up at 'Klovermarken' (The Clover Field), the site of Denmark's first airfield, on the island of Amager, near Copenhagen International Airport at Kastrup. However, this idea - and several others - never came into being.
