Entering this brand-new museum, visitors get a real feeling of stepping back in time. And so they should, as the hangars that it occupies still bear the scars of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7,1941. The Pacific Aviation Museum - Pearl Harbor is situated on Ford Island (still an active Navy base) in the centre of Pearl Harbor itself, on Oahu, Hawaii. It opened on December 7, 2006 (see News in the February issue), the 65th anniversary of what US President Franklin D Roosevelt described in his address to Congress the day following the attack as "a date which will live in infamy".
