Dornier museum opens in Germany

An impressive new museum dedicated to the pioneering work of the Dornier company opened at Friedrichshafen, Germany, on July 23. The 53,820ft~2 (5,000m~2) centre in Baden-Wuettemberg (on the Bavarian border) is the brainchild of Silvius Dornier, the oldest living son of the legendary Claude Dornier, and took 18 months to construct.rnMore than 500 guests, including many important figures from the present-day aerospace industry,rnattended the official opening ceremony.
