After the first successful raid by the [Douglas] A-4s and [Dassault] Mirage squadrons on Bahia Agradable (Fitzroy) on June 8, the South Air Force decided to lunch a second attack with A-4Bs from my squadron, A-4Cs from San Julian Air Base and Mirage IIIs as escort.rnWe took off from Rio Gallegos about 15:00 hours, each carrying three 5001b bombs. We were two units of three Skyhawks each. Our flight plan was to fly from Rio Gallegos, up to the south-east of the Soledad Island (East Falkland) doing air-to-air refuelling [AAR] in the middle of our route [about 200 nautical miles - nm - from Rio Gallegos].
