Hurricane Force

Not content with hosting a reunion of Royal Norwegian Air Force veterans - see the December issue - the community that is North Weald airfield staged a Gathering of Hurricanes on October 25. Although the weather was decidedly autumnal, with some dark and forbidding clouds, everybody's spirits were high.rnOrganising a milestone like this is no easy task, but Kevin Broughall and Iain Arnold proved themselves well up to it. Informality and accessibility were the watchwords of the day.rnThe large crowd of enthusiasts could mingle with Hurricane veterans and present-day pilots - see the group shot for more details. Thanks to CCB Aviation, there was a marquee where the veterans could shelter themselvesrnfrom the elements and take part in a series of signing sessions.
