The Spitfire has been restored by Duxford-based Historic Flying and carried out its first engine runs in December 2009. It was crated and shipped to its owners, the Historic Aircraft Foundation of Seattle, Washington, in September this year (see page 7 for details of its first flight). Peter Holloway's well known Bestmann departed its Old Warden base on May 16, bound for its new owners, the Ouax Club, at Hamm, Germany. But all eyes must really be on Kilo-Sierre. Not to be confused with the postwar Widgeon helicopter, this is one of seven Widgeon IIIAs built by Westland at Yeovil, Somerset. The first Widgeon parasol two-seater was flown at Yeovil on September 22,1924, and 30 were completed up to 1929.
