July's issue featured the Percival Proctor projects at Great Oakley in Essex. A G Vowles of Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, kept extensive logbooks of his sightings while with the Royal Observer Corps 1943 to 1960. On a visit to 4 Radio School at Madley, Herefordshire, in September 1946 he noted Mk.l P6180 coded '4-99', Mk.lll LZ697 '4-54' and Mk.Ivs RM160 '4-72', RM169 '4-74' and RM224 '4-69'. It was RM169 that was imported from Sweden by Mike Biddulph on May 28, see the news pages in the August FlyPast.
