GULF 'TAXI'

After converting to the twin-engined Bristol Brigand and a spell in Iraq with 84 Squadron, I arrived at Khormaksar, Aden, in January 1950 to fly with 8 Squadron. This unit was also using the Brigand, the type that had replaced Hawker Tempests the year before.rnIn May 1950, the Squadron took on the role of Protectorate Support Flight, for which purpose it was to be equipped with a few Avro Anson C.I 9s, which could take-off and land on the short landing strips dotted around the Protectorates.
