Airbus A320 N106US, which was ditched in the River Hudson, New York, on January 15,2009, saving the lives of all 155 aboard, is being reassembled for static display at the Carolinas Aviation Museum in Charlotte, North Carolina. The US Airways'machine had actually been bound for Charlotte on the day of the accident. On departing New York's La Guardia Airport, Flight 1549 collided with a flock of geese, causing both engines to fail, but Capt Chelsey 'Sully' Sullenberger and his crew managed to bring the airliner to a gentle rest on the river, enabling all aboard to be rescued.
