New Zealand gets an FW 190

The first of the Flug Werk-built Focke-Wulf Fw 190 replicas has been acquired by the Omaka, New Zealand-based Chariots of Fire Fighter Collection, and should be flying in time for Omaka's Classic Fighters airshow on April 22 to 24. D-FWWC first flew on July 22,2004, becoming the first Fw 190 of any description to get airborne in around 55 years. It has since been upgraded with new oil cooling and other systems, and wears the markings of JG54 'ace' Erich Rudorffer. It will be the first of its type to fly in the southern hemisphere.
