The committee organising the Sywell Airshow handed over a cheque for £31,744.30 on December 3 to the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA). The proceeds were raised thanks to the generosity of people attending the FlyPast-supported bi-annual airshow, which was held on August 22. Around 10,000 visitors were at the show, more than twice the number anticipated. "The WNAA tell us that it costs around £1,000 for each life-saving mission they fly, so we've potentially funded 31 such trips," said committee member Ben Brown. The Air Ambulance also raised over £2,000 through donations made at its own stall on the day.
