Was there ever a Mosquito F-8/ PR.XVI in the horrible Grey finish shown in the December issue? All those I saw in 1944-1945 were in a most attractive shade of 'Mid Blue' (similar to that of the PRU 'Spitfire' XI). I well remember watching one of these aircraft 'orbiting' the 'Cut Bridges' over the River Ouse at King's Lynn, on December 23 or 24,1944. It flew three ever-widening circuits at approximately 100ft, and displayed the highly suitable finish of the said blue wings and fuselage, with scarlet tail unit, and, complete with 'invasion stripes' in black and white, still intact.
